The work force

BlueSkys provides social inclusion, self-worth and personal
well-being through supported, meaningful occupation and education, for those with or recovering from mental ill health and/or with a learning disability.

The project is the result of consultation with mental health service users and statutory and voluntary sector organisations.
Horticulture has been identified as one of the most useful forms of therapeutic activity to aid recovery.

All aspects of horticulture will be undertaken by Frame volunteers and placements from external organisations, who will be supervised by suitably qualified and experienced staff.

What BlueSkys Offers

The project provides practise for work and training through:

horticulture (planning, planting, care, harvesting)
woodwork (use of re-used materials)
sales
IT (planting plans, advertising, labels and packaging)
social skills (working as part of a group, communication skills)

When placements are ready and are looking ahead to their future, they can be supported into voluntary work, work tasters and even paid employment, by linking them to the Key Steps service. (see links page)

BlueSkys and SRS (Strategic Recycling Scheme)

BlueSkys is operating on organic principals producing naturally

  grown vegetables.

Wherever possible BlueSkys will re-use rather than buy new.

Compost bins have been erected and as much plant material,   shredded paper, etc. is composted.

Frame’s work shop will provide garden items made from re-usable   wood for use on the site and for sale.
