How did the Haverfordwest Community Fridge start and who supports the project?

The Haverfordwest Community Fridge was only made possible with the support of WCVA and The Landfill Tax Community Fund who donated £43,600 towards set up costs including a Community Fridge Co-ordinator to get the project started and a Community Fridge Van. The Bluestone Foundation have also been extremely supportive providing funding for glass fronted fridges and freezers and training support for the Haverfordwest Community Fridge team. We are so grateful for the support of all our funders and partners who have contributed to the project being the success that it is today.

How can I find out more about reducing waste?

Community Fridges are popping up all over the UK. They are great way to help reduce edible food going to landfill, whilst helping to connect the community. Below are links where you can access more information:

Pembroke Dock Community Fridge

We are grateful to The Pembroke Dock Town Council who have donated £2,500 towards the start-up costs of opening the Pembroke Dock Community Fridge. We would also like to thank Bluestone Foundation who have donated a shiny new glass fronted fridge for the project and to Howdens Kitchens for donating and fitting a new kitchen at the Pembroke Dock, Pembrokeshire FRAME site.

We are currently developing plans to open the Community Fridge subject to Covid 19 restrictions. Please watch out on this website for updates and also on our Haverfordwest Community Fridge and Pembrokeshire FRAME facebook sites.
