FRAME Furniture Surgery Initiative
The Furniture Surgery is a new initiative that started in November 2020 and is based in the Green Shed at our Merlin’s Bridge site. This grant aided project aims to provide placement opportunities for people with disabilities in upcycling furniture through the replacement and updating of the upholstery. They can work in our spacious, well equipped workshop on a range of items donated to our charity and prepare them for sale in our shops.
The Furniture Surgery also provides opportunities for volunteers to learn basic and not so basic techniques whilst using a range of tools and materials. We will be running regular workshops for people who want to learn these skills for their own projects.
The Furniture Surgery will also undertake commissioned work on behalf of the public. If you have an item that you would like upcycled then contact us to discuss your plans and we can provide advice and a price for completing the work.
Of course, another important aim for the project is to reduce the amount of furniture that is sent to landfill through the reuse of items of furniture that people no longer need. Pembrokeshire FRAME has worked for many years to this aim and has successfully contributed to the recycle economy of Pembrokeshire.
If you are interested in placement, volunteering or attending any of our workshops please contact info@frameltd.co.uk or call us on 01437 763204
