Who we are
Pembrokeshire FRAME is a supported employment and life changing charity that transforms hundreds of lives in Pembrokeshire each year, by providing access to learning, supported and meaningful occupation, social enterprise, voluntary and employment opportunities, help and support to enable individuals to reach their potential.
Many people come to Pembrokeshire FRAME having been turned away from support elsewhere, they battle with all kinds of issues such as disabilities, learning difficulties, breakdowns, poverty, mental health, illness, loneliness, lack of confidence and low self-esteem; such barriers that prevent them from believing in themselves and achieving in education and work. Pembrokeshire FRAME recognises and nurtures every need and helps these individuals and local communities turn around their lives and realise their dreams. Pembrokeshire FRAME delivers person centred support plans, learning, voluntary/employment opportunities, and the chance to really make a difference in a supported environment.
Our model at Pembrokeshire FRAME involves us using our commercial operations in reuse and reducing waste to support and sustain our charity programmes for the individuals who we support, this means that we are able to deliver significant social value whilst also supporting the environment and fighting climate change. Participants at Pembrokeshire FRAME are involved in the entire operation from the collection of preloved furniture and household goods, through to the sorting, selection and in some cases upcycling of items for sale, through to marketing, selling and delivering of goods.
It is hard to believe how Pembrokeshire FRAME has grown and transformed over the years and is a far cry from the small Matron’s bungalow where it all began in Merlin’s Bridge in 1994. Pembrokeshire FRAME now operates 2 reuse furniture showrooms in Merlin’s Bridge and Pembroke Dock, has opened The Green Shed, a community reuse centre and established The Haverfordwest Community Fridge. In addition to this Pembrokeshire FRAME has 3 social enterprises including One of A Kind, a furniture upcycling project, the FRAME Furniture Surgery and Blue Skys, our gardening project. Pembrokeshire FRAME has exceptional links with Pembrokeshire County Council and is contracted to carry out a number of waste reducing activities throughout the year.
