Repair, revive and reuse
FRAME Furniture Surgery supports furniture repair, restoration and re-upholstery activity within The Green Shed, helping to reduce waste while creating meaningful opportunities for people to learn practical skills.
A practical reuse project with social impact
Furniture Surgery is part of FRAME’s wider commitment to reuse, repair and recovery. It helps give furniture a longer life through repair, restoration and re-upholstery, while providing practical activity and supported learning opportunities.
The project supports people to develop confidence, routine and hands-on skills in a welcoming workshop environment. It also helps reduce waste by encouraging repair and reuse before disposal.
From small repairs and revived pieces to re-upholstery and creative reuse, Furniture Surgery shows what can be achieved when practical skills and sustainability come together.
Furniture repair, restoration and re-upholstery activity
Furniture Surgery brings together practical workshop activity, reuse skills and creative problem-solving. The focus is on helping items last longer, reducing waste and supporting people to build useful skills through meaningful activity.
Repair and revive
Supporting furniture to be repaired, refreshed and brought back into use wherever possible.
Re-upholstery skills

Reuse and sustainability
Reducing waste by encouraging repair, recovery and reuse before items are thrown away.
The project is linked closely with FRAME’s wider reuse work, including furniture retail, upcycling, re-upholstery and supported volunteering opportunities.
