
Job Vacancy – Pembrokeshire Refill Manager

We are looking for a motivated and inspiring Pembrokeshire Refill Manager for our new refill store which will be opening soon in Pembroke Dock.

This is a fantastic and exciting opportunity for someone with a passion for the environment and both living and promoting a sustainable lifestyle. With excellent customer service skills, the right candidate will have retail/hospitality experience to oversee the overall management of the store and the recruitment and management of volunteers.

We are looking for someone who will be proactive on taking initiatives for the day-to-day management of the shop. The Pembrokeshire Refill Manager will initially assist the Training and Resources Manager in the development of and preparation for the opening of Pembrokeshire Refill and the new Community Fridge project.
The ongoing purpose of the role is to ensure the business success of Pembrokeshire Refill in terms of project opening, marketing and community interest, team development and produce placement and sales.
Pembrokeshire Refill will be an exciting concept store that requires a passion for sustainability and will allow the post holder to drive sustainability and educate staff, volunteers, participants and the local community about the importance of a carbon neutral approach.
Responsible for:
- Sorting, cleaning and preparing for the opening and launch of Pembrokeshire Refill,
- Serving customers, advising on products, how to use the shop, food knowledge is a plus,
- Refilling dispensers and shelves (can involve heavy lifting),
- Merchandising, with a good eye to create displays and developing marketing strategies,
- Maintaining hygiene in line with environmental health standards (shop, community fridge and storage room),
- Meticulous cleaning of all equipment, containers, community fridge, surfaces, floors etc,
- Placing supplier’s orders – keeping the shop stocked up,
- Stock taking,
- Social media planning and working with the Digital & Communications Manager,
- Delivering workshops and talks about the Waste reducing project,
- General admin and record keeping,
- Management of shop volunteers and participants,
- Packing for online and click & collect orders and home deliveries,
- Use of the EPOS system and providing training on the system to team members,
- Local collection and deliveries when required,
- Ensuring participants’ and volunteers’ health and safety, giving a high standard of training, adhering to FRAME’s risk assessments and induction process, ensuring good practice,
- Ensuring the provision of necessary PPE and Covid regulation requirements for all activities,
- Support participants with mental health issues and or learning disabilities to develop their skills and confidence in retail, customer care, promoting cohesion, friendship, and team spirit,
- To actively promote equality and diversity,
- Documenting the projects growth and development using FRAME’s monitoring and evaluation systems to aid fundraising bids and future project development,
- To work collaboratively with other departments and projects at FRAME,
- To keep yourself personally updated about sustainable issues and practises and to update and maintain a local sustainability noticeboard in the store.

- Retail/hospitality industry experience,
- Experience of supporting vulnerable adults,

- Able to develop good working relationships and communicate effectively,
- Able to work safely and to not endanger yourself or others, following health and safety requirements to maintain a hazard free working environment,

- A commitment to the aims and principles of Pembrokeshire FRAME, including a commitment to confidentiality
In addition, the successful applicant will be expected:
• To assist The Training and Resources Manager in other duties and activities which support Pembrokeshire FRAME,
• To maintain a first-class level of customer service ensuring that all customers, participants, and volunteers are treated efficiently and in an appropriate manner,
• To work within the relevant legislation, policies, and procedures,
• To participate in the Annual Appraisal Process,
• To actively support equality and diversity policies of Pembrokeshire FRAME,
• To attend training courses as identified and agreed for appropriate development,
• To work within the Health and Safety at Work Act, the postholder has a legal duty to take reasonable care for Health and Safety both for themselves and others who may be affected by their actions,
• To undertake other duties not specifically stated which from time to time are necessary without altering the nature or level of responsibility.
Potential for contract to be extended subject to funding
This is a 12-month role part funded by the National Lottery Community Fund
