MAKE YOUR OWN CLOTHES WORKSHOP SERIES – Beginner –
Tue 9 Jun – 14 Jul, 6-8pm.
Learn to use a sewing machine and get stuck in making your first garment at our fully equipped studio in Pembroke Dock.
Tutor – Sarah Poland – fashion designer and artist – you’ll be guided step-by-step, whether you’re a complete beginner or building confidence. With a fashion degree, Fine Art MA, and years of experience, Sarah offers expert, hands-on tuition in a supportive small-group setting.
Create a simple pair of trousers, a skirt or a top (menswear or womenswear), starting from your chosen pattern.
We also offer you the chance to show your creation in our fashion show at Pembrokeshire Fashion Festival in October, with you (or a friend) as a model.
What you’ll learn:
– How to use a sewing machine
– How to read and follow a pattern
– How to select suitable fabrics
– The skills to construct your first garment with confidence
Workshops are limited to 4 participants, ensuring plenty of individual guidance. Bring your own machine or use one of ours.
Before the course begins, you’ll have a short on-boarding call to assess your level and help you choose a suitable pattern – so you’re ready to start from day one.
We’ll also discuss fabric choices and quantities during the first session, and can recommend suppliers. A small selection of donated fabrics will be available to purchase.

6 Tuesdays, 6-8pm
Price:
£175 for 6 sessions
What to bring:
– A sewing pattern (we’ll guide you before the course)
– Your sewing machine (optional)
– Any fabric you already have (we’ll discuss suitability)
